Welcome to my life in a nutshell. My motto: "Just because it is true doesn't mean it's real."

When it rains it pours!
Shawn has had this weird vertigo problem where he suddenly gets dizzy and has trouble walking or talking. The best way I've found at describing it is that he gets periods lasting for 30 seconds to 2-3 minutes where it's like he's falling down drunk, slurring speech and everything. This has been going on for almost 4 months now. His doctor originally diagnosed it as Positional Vertigo, and prescribed Dramamine. The Dramamine does help with the dizzy spells to a certain degree but the problem wasn't getting better like the doctor said it should. I made Shawn go back into the doctor when there started to be additional symptoms...his limbs would get as he described it as "really heavy or hard to move" and then he started experiencing tingling in his face once in awhile. So his doctor set him up for an MRI on the 25th of March (the day before his birthday) just to check his brain out. On the 27th his doctor called with the MRI results and said that there were multiple lesions on Shawn's brain that looked like it could be Multiple Sclerosis (MS). He wasn't positive, but he referred Shawn to a Neurologist that specializes in MS. We now have an appointment on 5/8/08 or sooner if a slot opens up to see this doctor.
Late Friday/Early Saturday morning I was getting a Migraine and the right side of my face started to act weirdly...I thought it was because of the migraine so I took it easy on Saturday and Sunday and took my meds like a good girl. Monday the migraine was fully gone but the right side of my face still wasn't working right so I tried to go to Urgent care after work. I had no other signs of a stroke so I waited until Tuesday morning to go to Urgent care. There I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy and given prescriptions for Valtrex and Prednizone. The doctor also had blood drawn just to make sure that it wasn't lyme disease which does happen up here. I have a follow up appointment with my regular doctor on Friday. I haven't been to work in 2 days and it is driving me nuts as I like my job, but my mouth doesn't work right and I can be hard to understand at times. Being at home is driving me crazy, though I've gotten a few things done that I've been putting off for awhile.
Please pray for us. I thought that the 6 months before my wedding wouldn't be nearly as stressful as they are. Wedding plans are still on going and we currently have a meeting with my family priest on Saturday morning. That's about it for now.

Laryngitis sucks!
So with everything going on in my life I go and get sick with a really bad cold and Laryngitis. It really sucks I would not suggest getting Laryngitis...Shawn and I have almost had a fight just because I couldn't answer him...
As a couple we pride ourselves on our communication...we really do talk about everything and we've only had a few fights in all the time we've been together. I think it's going to take a little adjustment on both of our parts while I'm getting better...now if my back and chest would stop hurting and the cough fits would stop long enough...I believe I would be less miserable. Well that's all for now...I'm off to bed again!

Now that the Holiday season is over and my life has slowed down a bit, I have time to sit down and type.

Shawn started a new job just after the first of the year. The job is much better and he processes property and casualty claims for Allstate.

Wedding planning is still ongoing and hectic; there's just over 6 months to go and it seems like there is so much to do an so little time.

Nothing much new with me. I'm still working on getting promoted to a Quality Assurance coach or Trainer.

I now have high speed internet and got rid of the AT&T dial up, which makes my life a lot more productive and happier.

I miss everyone and hope to catch up with you all!

I know it's been a long time since I last posted and a lot has happened since then. We've been really busy at work and my routine lately has been sleep, eat, work and repeat. Shawn was promoted to the claims dept. I'm am a mentor, working on becoming a trainer/QA professionsal.

It's just under a year to my wedding. A lot of things are taken care of, but there's still quite a few things left to do. I've already got my dress, veil, tiara, and undergarments. They were all on sale and I saved about $300.00.

My sister flew to Germany on 9/1/07. She's having a lot of fun already on her year abroad. They have quite a few trips planned to different places.

That's about it for now, I've got to run to work now.

Dress shopping, rings and other wedding stuff

So my mom and sister's are coming down to Madison tomorrow to go dress shopping for bridesmaids dresses, maybe I'll try on something. I can't wait.

Shawn and I have found our rings. Found them at another store in town and was quoted $800.00 each or $1600.00 for both. Asked about same ring at another store and they said they could get the same exact thing for $450.00 and the warranty at this store is way better. We're going to officially put in the order next week. Shawn's ring is going to be more expensive because we have to get him a higher gold content because of his allergies.

Nothing else new here. Work is the same as it was before, but I found out I get more training starting next month so that should be a lot of fun.

Another month and a half has gone by so damn fast!  My sister Sarah leaves for a year of study abroad in Germany in just over 3 months. We're planning a dress shopping trip to Madison, so that my sisters can meet my other bridesmaids and they can pick the bridemaids dresses.

Work is still interesting and fun. Even with all the down time recently. Nothing else has changed really.

I'm currently reading, "Eragon".

If you haven't heard it already you should listen to "Dear Mr. President" from Pink's newest CD.

New Job and Other Things

I know I haven't posted in over 2 months, but it has been a really busy time and I just now feel like I can take a breath.

I started my new job in the life insurance business unit. I now know more about life insurance then I ever cared to before, but I really like my job and it is A LOT less stressful. It started with 5 weeks of in depth training and another 5 weeks of "nesting" where we had mentors available to ask questions. I'm supposed to go back for another week of training next month for more training.  This job also has a lot of advancement opportunities. I'm looking at it as a good stepping stone to other opportunities.

I've been doing a lot of wedding planning. I tried on several dresses last Saturday. I only liked one of the dresses. We will be booking DJ soon. Waiting for tax returns to have deposit.

That's about it for now.
